THE 2009 PUGET SOUND BUDDY WALK® AT A GLANCE
What: The 13th Annual Puget Sound Buddy Walk®, a stroll around the Seattle Center grounds that anyone can do, and a family centered celebration The Buddy Walk® was started by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 and has grown to over 225 walks worldwide today Why: To promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome and to celebrate National Down Syndrome Awareness Month. To raise funds to support the advocacy, educational, and social activities of our non-profit, the Down Syndrome Community and the national education and research programs of the National Down Syndrome Society.
On Sunday, October 4, 2009 1 to 4 PM Where: Seattle Center Fisher Rooftop Plaza Who: Children, young adults and adults with Down syndrome, and all those whose lives have been touched by someone with Down syndrome Activities: Musical entertainment, a raffle with great prizes, speakers, food, face-painting, crafts, fishing for prizes, balloon artist, clowns and more…………………. Photography, art, and jewelry created by talented artists with Down syndrome in the Puget Sound area will be on display and available for purchase.
