The 22nd Annual Puget Sound Buddy Walk was held on Sunday, October 14th at the Seattle Center Founders Court and was a huge success! Over 1,400 attendees enjoyed the kids’ activities, visited the resource booths and vendors, grabbed a bite to eat at the food trucks, and enjoyed listening to our Honored Guest, Angela Martin. The Walk, led by our very own bagpiper, Philip Thelin, wound around the Seattle Center grounds, and ended with our very popular T21 Dance Party, led by DJ Anthony. The party definitely could have gone on longer!
Thank you to all those who made the Walk possible starting with the 2018 Puget Sound Buddy Walk Committee of Tracy Brown, Rita Cruz, Maura Dunn, Mayumi Frame, Richelle Gehrke, Wendy Hawley, Linda Michael, Brian Michael, Lynne Palmisano, Becky Ronan, Linda Sauve, and Jennifer Small.
Thank you to all our sponsors: Seattle Center, Hunt Marketing Group, Woodland Park Zoo, Spirit Transport Systems, Inc., Orion Entertainment, Embassy Suites by Hilton, Egger Orthodontics, P.E.E.R.S. Play, RITCS Holdings LLC, Virginia Mason, Raise Expectations, Family Psychological Services of Kirkland, Westlake Consulting Group, TerraClear, Eastside Pediatric Dental Group, Stepping Stones Therapy Network, and SSF Structural Engineering.
Thank you to everyone who came and we are especially grateful to our top two fundraising teams and all those who donated or raised funds. Noah’s Super-Suite Team (led by Team Captain Kristie Richardson) took the first place fundraising honor (again!) raising $5,525 and Faith’s Buddies (led by Team Captain Cody Martinell) came in 2nd raising $5,218. We also had 15 teams that raised $1,000 or more, earning them a spot on our Fundraising All-Stars wall at the Buddy Walk. In total, our teams raised more than $53,000 for the DSC – the most ever!
Thank you to Dave Grosby, “The Groz,” of 710 ESPN Radio, for being our emcee.
Thank you to the small army of volunteers that come together every year to help the Walk run smoothly – we are so appreciative of all of you!
Thank you to our photographers, Tom Ellis, Amber Pineda and Lauren Bartow.
